![]() Especially with how simple the combat system is if you think you won't get bored after absolutely destroying the same exact CPU and enemy variety for hours on end then idk. The replay value for me is 10x less already due to the fact that when I max out there's no way I'm ever replaying the game again. Isolating the character to have some written-up new characters for friends on a plot taking place 100 years before the Hogwarts we all know. ![]() Hogwarts is a school as well as a home for the students. Literally, the whole vibe and energy of Harry Potter is friendship and community. Last time I checked as well, not a single prominent character besides maybe Snape in Harry Potter doesn't have a crew of friends. Literally would've been the same exact game just more enjoyable because you would've been able to enjoy it with friends. I hate that everyone thinks co-op = micro transactions. Also I would be just fine if the coop player only gets to play as npc and not their custom character just an NPC thats always in your players house who in solo would be a follower if you wanted them would become your coop buddy. What I'm saying is they could have easily added a coop without interfering with the story not saying they should just saying it wouldn't have been hard and then I probably would have gotten it I know my buddy only buys games he can play with me or his wife so that would have been 3 purchases there alone. The only games I can play for more than an hr are ones I can play coop with my brother or my buddies granted I'm also not a fan of MMOs. I wish this had a coop as I just can't find joy in playing games alone I don't even watch TV alone I just can't find joy in it unless I have someone to enjoy it with idk why, so odds are I won't be buying this game not cause it looks dumb but because I know I won't spend more than an hr on it and then toss it away. My big thing is everyone acts like coops can't follow the solo story when 90% of them do exactly that they play the story as if there is only one player. There's right and wrong ways to do it, and MMOs are certainly overplayed by now, but there's still not enough exciting games that let you experience it with 1-3 other people. In fact, I'd take that over an MMO any day! But it still makes no sense why they would add extra monetization when you have to buy the game to begin with.Īll the arguments on this page seem to be against MMOs, (which I wholeheartedly agree with,) rather than actual disagreement with multiplayer as a whole, (which I completely disagree with). There's nothing wrong with wanting to have an adventure with a loved one. ![]() Couch co-op or by invite-only is perfectly fine, similarly to how Pokemon works, (more specifically, almost exactly how My Time At Sandrock or Animal Crossing work). You're not wrong, but I also err on the side of thinking that would make 0 sense because multiplayer =/= MMO. These same people that want this game would lose their mind when the inherent monetization took over the game if it was multiplayer. I wouldn't make a mmo on hoghwarts tho, it's too small imo. So knowing all that i'm not completly against a HP mmo but it has to forget all the things you mentionned. ![]() But overall the gameplay is good tbh, if you want a game where no job is completly useless, you'll enjoy it. I do agree that the game gameplay gets "watered down", some jobs became a lot easier and more convenient over the years (looking at the tanks losing their "dps stance" haha). ![]() Sure it's not the best story ever, but i enjoyed it a lot, it's my main reason to play. The begining is classic for sure but it gets better at the 1rst expantion, the 2nd is a bit dissapointing, but 3rd and 4th are amazing for an mmo. Now i didn't try many other mmo but the story from FFXIV could be used to make a solid solo game focused mostly on story. The store for the game is just for cosmetics or boosts to get close to max lvl, but nothing will guive you a big advantage, no lootbox as well. It's litterally a mmo for solo players, the main story can be done with almost no grinding (if you keep the same job tho) and don't have to reroll at all. I really hope that other mmos take example from FFXIV. ![]()
